Sickness and even pain are not inherently bad if it is possible to transform them into something beneficial. The Buddhist perspective offers many effective methods for everyone – Buddhist and non-Buddhist — to transform pain and sickness into treasures of inner wealth, which are the actual causes of peace and lasting happiness.

Gen Kelsang Chöma is a senior Kadampa Buddhist nun and the Resident Teacher at KMC San Francisco. She has studied and practiced under the guidance of Geshe Kelsang for 25 years and has taught throughout the United States. People find her teachings clear, warm and encouraging.
