HOW TO UNDERSTAND THE MIND Foundation Program Cate 300

Sundays, 9:30am-Noon
with Cate Fields

The Historic Linekin Building
22248 Main Street
Hayward, CA 94541

Our Foundation Program series, based on Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s extraordinary book, How to Understand the Mind, is taught by Cate Fields.

What is the mind?  Where do negative minds come from? How can we improve our concentration and other peaceful minds?  We will answer these questions, and many more, all while learning to meditate in depth on the beautiful and blissful nature of our pure mind.

This is a unique study program. Through regular teachings, guided meditations, systematic study, and group discussion, the Foundation Program (FP) offers the same training followed by spiritual practitioners in an unbroken lineage dating back to Buddha Shakyamuni. In this way, we can gain authentic experience of the Dharma while  maintaining our contemporary lifestyle.

The benefits of studying and practicing the book, How to Understand the Mind, are as  follows: We gain the ability to transform our day-to-day living – including even the most difficult conditions – into opportunities for personal and spiritual development. By pointing the way to an unchanging freedom and happiness, this immensely readable book challenges us to grow, and will have a remarkable impact on our life.

Cate Fields has been practicing and studying with the NKT since 2005.  She is on the Teacher Training Program and is known for her sincerity and compassion.   Cate currently teaches the Foundation Program in Hayward.
