Join us for our annual New Year’s Eve event, ringing in the New Year with compassion and beneficial intentions! Everyone Welcome.

SCHEDULE

7:00 – 7:45pm: enjoy hors d’oeuvres and the company of fellow practitioners.
7:45 – 8:30 pm: Gen Choma will offer a brief introduction to the practice of Buddha Avalokiteshvara, Buddha of Compassion
8:30-9:00pm: Buddha Avalokiteshvara Prayers of Compassion

COST: $15, free for FP, TTP and Temple Members

ABOUT THE EVENT

From 8:30 – 9:00pm, we will enjoy beautiful chanted Avalokiteshvara prayers, a lovely arrangement of prayers and mantras, along with a guided meditation to take us into the New Year.

This event is a wonderful opportunity for making our heartfelt resolutions for the New Year extra powerful. With a peaceful and compassionate mind, we can dedicate for the welfare and peace of all of the whole world. And we’ll conclude with a non-alcoholic New Year’s toast!

ABOUT THE TEACHER

Gen Kelsang Choma is senior Teacher and Buddhist nun with the New Kadampa Tradition of Modern Buddhism; she has studied extensively on the Teacher Training Program for over 25 years and is qualified to teach both Sutra and Tantra. She is the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center San Francisco and is invited to teach nationally.  People enjoy her teachings for their clarity and warmth.

24 HOUR TARA PRAYERS, DEC 31-JAN 1: Please also feel free to join in Buddha Tara Prayers to bring in the new year. Session times are Dec 31*- 4pm, Jan 1- Midnight, 4am, 8am, noon. More info, click here.

* 8pm session will be replaced with Avalokiteshvara prayers, preceded by New Year’s Eve talk
