Monday, July 10: Accessing reality: The bliss in letting go of limitations with Ryan Shay

We all want to make positive changes in our life, but we are often held back by a limited view of our self and by mistakenly believing that limited self we see is who we really are. This sense of limitation is magnified by our uncontrolled desire to be happy all the time but a seeming inability to fulfill this wish. We seek the very best of everything ― the best car, the best partner, the best house, the best job ― but how often do we get what we want? Even when do get what we want, do we feel completely satisfied, or do we just want more?

By applying Buddhist teachings on the nature of reality and our true self, we can learn how to abandon desirous attachment and identify with our pure potential, giving us access to the deep bliss of our own mind. In this way we can develop the confidence and wisdom to create the life we long for and help others do the same.

All of our drop-in meditation classes are perfectly suited for busy modern people. You do not need to be a Buddhist to enjoy and understand Buddha’s teachings – anyone can benefit from increased inner peace.

The general structure of the class is as follows:

  • Simple guided breathing meditation
  • Practical teaching on how to solve problems in daily life
  • Second guided meditation on the teaching topic
  • Brief discussion or Q & A

Drop-ins welcome!
